Long walk to use the ticket machine in the old car park as the new machines are yet wired up. How difficult can it be? This has gone on for weeks!
View of trains could be better.
Convenient parking for both Didcot Parkway Station and historic railway centre.
I guess that in 1985 having a Car park was a big deal and was worthy of the name 'Didcot Parkway', thanks Wikipedia, however that was then.Given a day or two to make a booking I would have rented a local driveway however as apparently the most practical Long stay I chose Foxhall. Firstly there is no signage, luckily I'd looked up the location in advance. It's a building site as others have described. The payment machines do not accept Card payment so I had to use the phone . I wanted more than 4 hours but its system considers anything over 4 hours is a day! Luckily another customer explained that. Long walk and hundreds of steps to use the 'temporary' bridge over the main line.
Good size, bit of a building site, only one ticket machine working, factor in a 5-10min walk to ticket machine (depending on where u park) back to your car and onto station which is about 3/4 mike or more. Not for people with only minutes to spare, uncomfy shoes or poor health/disability- lots of steps and gravel. But for the able bodied a perfectly reasonable distance especially on a nice sunny day like today. Views of the Didcot rail centre.
